In recent years, the telecommunications market has been undergoing a profound transformation — digitalization, the rise of new technologies, and the redefinition of connectivity are changing the way we communicate and live.
Minutes have become less important, while megabytes and gigabytes have taken center stage. At the same time, the region is witnessing market consolidation and strategic acquisitions, while global trends such as the Starlink satellite network continue to push the boundaries of the industry.
This dynamic landscape raises numerous questions about the future of the telecom sector — from the positioning of domestic operators and the development of 5G networks to the role of new services, content, and partnerships in the digital ecosystem. These very topics and development directions will be discussed at the NetWork 13 Conference, taking place from October 22 to 24 at the Grand Hotel Neum.
The panel titled “Telecoms in BiH and the Region – What’s Brewing?” will bring together leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s top telecom operators, who will share their insights on sector transformations and open new discussions about the future of the market.
The conversation will cover topics such as competitiveness and collaboration, expansion in the areas of TV content, multimedia, and digital production, as well as the development of 5G networks, market consolidation, and investments shaping the future of connectivity in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
Panelists include Jelena Trivan, CEO of Mtel a.d. Banja Luka; Amel Kovačević, CEO of BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo; and Dr. Goran Kraljević, M.Eng., Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of JP Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d. Mostar.
The discussion will be moderated by Emela Burdžović, a prominent journalist, editor, and host, well-known in the local media scene for her moderation work, public speaking training, and leadership in media campaigns. With her distinctive style, Burdžović will steer the discussion toward key questions — how telecoms perceive a rapidly changing market, where the opportunities for innovation lie, and when users can expect a full transition to 5G networks.
Through this panel, the audience will gain unique insights into the visions and approaches of leading domestic operators — how they shape the future of communications, balance global trends with local needs, and develop solutions that transform the everyday lives of users in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Once again, NetWork 13 brings timely topics, strong leaders, and conversations that open new perspectives on the future of the digital economy. The entire organizational and communication concept of the conference — held this year under the slogan TEChTONIC CHANGES — is implemented by the Communis Agency.
