Digitization of public administration services in BiH: Are the days without stamps, counters and 'another piece of paper' coming?
Digitization of public administration services in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently standing at a digital crossroads. While Europe and the region are rapidly moving towards the comprehensive digitization of public services, BiH seems like a country trapped in the analog past. In an era where digital transformation is not just a trend but a necessity, citizens and companies in BiH face a lack of practical digital options for key services in the domain of public administration.

It seems that so far digital initiatives have only been a secondary item on the political agenda and the question that arises is not only "why", but "how to proceed"? Are things starting to change, have the conditions been met and will the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina finally begin to catch up digitally with the rest of the modern world?

At the upcoming NetWork conference, which will be held from October 18 to 20 at the Grand Hotel Neum, one of the central events will be a panel discussion that will try to provide insights and answers to current issues of digitalization of public administration services. The name of this panel is "Digitalization of public administration services in BiH - are better days ahead?", and it is being realized under the auspices of AmCham.

Damir Dizdarević, general manager of the company Logosoft, with many years of experience in the IT sector and involvement in the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), will assume the role of moderator of the panel and lead and enrich the discussion with his expertise.

Respectable and relevant panelists who will share information, plans and experiences with the participants are:

  • Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, who will present the current state and vision of digitalization of public administration services in BiH from the position of the competent ministry.
  • Almir Badnjević, Director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), will explain the role and plans of this agency in the digitalization of public administration services.
  • Svjetlana Perković, with experience in many digital transformation projects for ITA, will share information about the current status of digitization of services in ITA and ways of integration with other institutions in BiH.
  • Aida Soko, economic advisor in the EU Delegation to BiH, who will provide insights into support and guidelines for the digital transformation of BiH from the perspective of the European Union.
  • Denis Turkanović, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development of the RS, who will share with the participants information and plans about what the ministry in which he operates is doing in terms of digitization.

Through an interactive discussion, the panelists will consider the key challenges, opportunities and solutions for the digital transformation of public administration and offer the attendees insights into the current state, plans for the future and potential obstacles that must be overcome. Will the digital future of Bosnia and Herzegovina mean the end of stamps, counters and endless papers - the NetWork conference will be dedicated to finding key answers to these and similar questions.
